Course Overview:

Much research has been conducted on what makes an effective leader.  In this interactive session, explore the findings of James M. Kouzes and Barry Posner, best selling authors of The Leadership Challenge and Credibility.  Through the use of an assessment tool, five leadership practice areas are explored and an action plan for using each practice area is developed.  Participants also spend time analyzing what it takes to be a great leader in the organization of today, considering current economic times and new workforce beliefs.

Target Audience:

The Challenge of Leadership is appropriate for any leader or leadership team that is interested in exploring the dimensions of leadership in a methodical and systematic way.  Any leader, whether they be a formal or informal leader will benefit from these ground-breaking ideas.

Course Objectives:

Participants can expect to:

• Explore five leadership practice areas
• Identify their strengths and development needs in each of the five leadership practice areas
• Learn more than 130 ways to improve their day-to-day use of the leadership practices
• Develop an action plan for directing improvement efforts

• Improving skills in the lowest ranked practice areas
